A Confident Heart Bible Study, introdution

I am starting a new (to me) online Bible study, led by Renee Swope at Proverbs 31 ministries. Using her book, A Confident Heart, and the Bible, she is leading a group of about 3500 women from all over the country to live with the onfident heart that God created them to have. I am so excited to do this study, as I first heard about it back in Deember 2011 but had not been able to do it until now. When I first became aware of this book, I knew it was something I needed. I have never had a lot of true onfidence. I've had bravado. I've had a chip on my shoulder - the size of a boulder - that manifested itself as aggressiveness, swagger, opinionated. But never true onfidence. Ask me to sing and lead others to worship and I break out in a cold sweat, even though I know in my heart that that is exatly what God is asking me to do.

One night I posted a request on Facebook asking for suggestions for a new bible study to add to my current 2. The next day Renee Swope and her publishers made the e-book version of her book available for FREE from Amazon.com and the next study was already scheduled for April 23, 2012.

Here is where I will be writing my thoughts and notes as I go through the study. Here is where I will be sharing how I will be attempting to "do" the Word and not just "hear" the Word in my life. It is my desire that the words that are put here will somehow help another woman out there.

It's a God thing...

James, Mercy Triumphs.By Beth Moore. A Study of the Book of James, Introduction

My Mountaintop Moms Bible study/ playgroup @ Lake Gregory Community church is hosting a study of the book of James, using Beth Moore's James Mercy Triumphs study book. This study has 5 levels of participation, and you choose your level. For some reason I'm doing level 5, which includes watching the videos, completing the homework, handwriting the Book of James, reading extra articles written by Beth's daughter, Melissa Moore Fitzpatrick and memorizing the Book of James. Yes, you read that right. The entire Book of James. Because doing all the other stuff just isn't enough. And because I am absolutely terrible at memorizing Bible verses. And lazy about it. I'll admit it. I do not take the time to commit God's Word to memory. Or put in the effort to committing it to memory. And then I claim I don't have the talent for it. LOL. How many of us do that, in so many different areas of our lives?

So I will share with you what I learn from James. About myself, about the Lord. And you can help me memorize the book along the way. So grab a cup of coffee, cause we're gonna be here a while...
